This year, the Taylor family decided to try our hand at "gardening." This is our first attempt as a family. I grew up helping with my parent's garden, but had never attempted my own in our almost 10 years of marriage.
So...this is the year!
After MUCH research via Pinterest, we gathered supplies to assemble our garden boxes. We started with two of them this year, to see how successful we are. We have also planted some things in large pots that reside up on our patio. I actually love having the plants around me while I sit, relax, and watch the kids play.
Megan enjoyed helping Brian with the raised garden beds.
The girls take a "break" from their hard labor... :)
This picture was taken several weeks ago of the lettuce I planted in a large pot.
And this is an "up close and personal" shot of the lettuce now. It is so delicious!
Potted mint - a gift from Jamie's Mom.
Our carrots, that seem to grow taller every night!
Our green bean plants.
So, there you have it. A sampling of what we are growing.
We have planted:
1. Strawberries
2. Lettuce (3 varieties)
3. Tomatoes
4. Yellow Peppers
5. Zucchini
6. Cucumbers
7. Mint
8. Green Beans
It is admittedly an interesting variety of plants! And, we don't really know what to expect. But, we are having fun experimenting in the beautiful world of gardening.
Stay tuned for updates as our garden grows!
